Sam's Society Duracell GC2

Is at that place a consensus on the quality of the 215ah Duracell GC2's sold at Sam'due south Club? They are regularly $90, but I see there is supposed to exist a auction on May eighth.

Trojans, the gold standard of standard golf cart batteries, probably cost 50-75% more. For the price, the Duracells audio not bad.

I oasis't bought these golf game cart batteries, but had previously bought 2 Duracell AGM's at Sam's for my sailboat. I was very happy with both battery purchases.

I just bought 8 of them, we'll run into. I do programme on using the 12 month warrantee, back then I worked in Boaters World, Gunkhole United states of america, and Westward Marine stores, we had a few customers who would buy batteries and return them for new merely before the 12 months. Probably nothing wrong with them but they always had less than one twelvemonth one-time batteries on board. Don't know if Sam'south will allow me become abroad with that more than in one case but I'll try. The Sam's batteries accept a few bad reviews, but about say they weren't as good as Rolls. Well, duh, of course they're non. But at one-half the cost what can you lot await?.

Bought Sam's batteries 25 years ago, didn't mistreat them, and they died inside a year. Never again. Hopefully, many things have inverse since and so with their battery quality, but I won't waste my precious fourth dimension and enrgies in that location.

I really utilize the Duracell GC batteries in my golf cart. In the same cart I take had Trojans, and Costco (interstate) They accept all failed after 3 years. Admittedly this is just an ascertainment, the charger is a ferro-resonance type that is on a timer non a 3 stage smart charger. every couple of months I measure the voltage of each battery after using the cart. The delta between the high and low voltage of each battery is about 20 millivolts and has been for each different make of batteries....So in this limited observation I don't run into much departure in battery brands

I go around and around on batteries. I mostly purchase what I consider to be a very good battery. Interstate deep cycle and starting batteries both. Simply they have climbed up to most $150 each. Tough to laissez passer upwards the Armada Farm batteries for under $100.Especially when I bear near eight batteries!

IIRC, they are Johnson Control batteries. They are fine. Not dandy, merely far from terrible. I used them several times in the old boat and they did very well, only at present I goto a nearby golfcart shop and go NAPA batteries for $100 each. One rule of thumb for batteries similar this is the heavier, the better.

I'm a large fan of Sams Club Duracell made past East Penn. Lately I've been using their AGMs and electric current 8D AGM accept served me well for business firm and thruster banks for seven seasons.., starting #8. I do take a adept multi phase charger set for AGM.
I simply took readings after sitting vi mos on The hard and house were 12.5V- 12.6V and thrusters were 12.75V before hooking back up to charger.
I will not replace w 8Ds but plan on a pair of GP31s for each 8D.
I put 8 GC AGMs in a motorhome a year ago and so far very pleased.

I just replaced 6 Costco Interstate GCs last month for $600...aforementioned price as Sam'due south. Don't know if they're equivalent only I've been getting five years out of mine with a 4 stage smart charger.

What jgwinks is proposing is unethical and just plain incorrect. I guess there is no event with every other client subsidizing his bombardment purchases.

Duracell are made by East Penn and are a Best Buy IMO.
As others said you can pay 50% - 75% more for "better" batty simply I doubt you will come out ahead. I accept switched from FLA to AGM but accept xi E Penn / Duracells in service and very happy. Will purchase more when current ones historic period out... 7 seasons so far and still doing well.

I'm on my fourth year with the Sam'due south duracells. Knock on wood they are still doing great. I practise think that their longevity is direct related to the quality of your charger.

"jgwinks", Shame on you. If you can't afford batteries for your gunkhole I don't think you lot should exist boating.

You probably have Menards paint on your boat, Poly line for your tie ups, Fleet Subcontract fenders, a "tractor supply tarp for your Bimini and winter encompass, Chinese tools in your toolbox, Romex for your wiring, a cement block for your ballast (and your head)

Duracell batteries are merely fine. Made by E Penn. Are they as "good", divers besides-constructed, every bit East Penn's Deka line? Probably. The difference is in the amount of lead inside the case. Duracell has less lead. That means they will not terminal quite every bit long, similarly used, nor have as many Ah. On a per amp-hour cost, peradventure the Duracell is less expensive. I exercise not know. I prefer to pay for the extra amphours. The annualized cost difference 6-8 years is very small only everyone'south bank account differs. Besides, if one is getting ready to sell the boat in a year or 2, the Duracell may exist a better pick. Not for me though in any circumstance. I want the amphours.
